My Exclusive interview with Lynn James....
Alright, I know most of you are wondering, "Who is this beautiful model?" Well her name is Lynn James, for those who watch Daddy's Girl on Tuesdays at 10pm (MTV) she is one of the cast members of the show. Okay, ringing a bell yet? Anywho, it was my pleasure to interview Lynn. She is a really cool and down to earth female who is making her way to the top in the modeling industry while keeping GOD first.
(KS) Since I already know your name & location, how old are you?
Lynn: Oooh a lady NEVER tells!
(KS) How old were when you first had an interest for modeling? And what inspired you?
Lynn: I was actually four years-old when I modeled in my first fashion show. I didn't really take it serious until I was 12 and then at the age of 16, I was signed with a Top Ten agency called Marilyn's. My mother inspired me and she even did a little modeling back in the day.
(KS) How is the fashion scene in Los Angeles, different from the East coast (NY)?
Lynn: The fashion scene in New York is obviously different from Los Angeles because the of culture of fashion. Being that a lot of fashion models, editors, magazines, agents, etc., all make there base there in New York. Plus alot of them started off there. Its like NYC breathe fashion! LA is more on a commercial modeling tip, which can have a lot of success too.
(KS) What is it that motivates you to keep living your dream?
Lynn: Well I try to never arrive. I always feel like there is a goal I am still trying to get to or striving for. So I can't give up until I get to that dream or goal and if I do there is always another one awaiting achievement when I get there. That way I have endless motivation and I have Jesus Christ as my strength.
(KS) There a lot of young girls who aspire to be models, what advice would you give them that could help them achieve their goals?
Lynn: I would tell these young ladies and guys to know oneself and have confidence before entering into a world of business like fashion. As long as you can do that and have a great foundation for faith, I'm sure you will take the fashion scene by storm. Be unique.
(KS) Since being apart of the hit reality TV show "Daddy's Girls", have you been presented with more opportunities in the fashion industry?
Lynn: I haven't noticed a change in the opportunities in high fashion yet, I'm sure there will though. If anything, I am getting more opportunities in commercial modeling because of the show definitely.
(KS) How do you manage your time between work and hanging out with friends?
Lynn: Time planning. I work hard but I also play hard. Its a perfect balance.
(KS) Where are some of your favorite places to shop in Los Angeles?
Lynn: I like to go to alot of vintage shops. I can always find classics in those places.
(KS)Compared to the east coast, do you feel that LA has more opportunities in the fashion industry?
Lynn: No not at all. NY has alot more opportunities in fashion and this coming from a personal experience.
(KS) Have you ever participated in LA fashion week? If so, which designer did you model for?
Lynn: No. I've never done LA fashion week but I may decide to do it next season.
(KS) What were some of your favorite moments while filming the reality show "Daddy's Girls"?
Lynn: I really love all the moments I film with my friends. I have to say that camping and Macy's private fashion show for Pastry are my top two if I had to choose.
(KS) Where do see yourself in five years?
Lynn: I see myself still living my dreams plus success is all around and with me. My company Love Always, LLC will be one of the best brands ever by then hopefully. God willings. Living & loving life!
(KS) Have you been to other countries to participate in other fashion shows? If so, where? If you haven't, where would you like to go that's outside of the U.S.?
Lynn: Oh yes! I've had the pleasure of modeling in many cities in China. Also, I won my first title in Accra, Ghana which was the "Face of the Americas".
I plan on going to all of the top fashion cities to work and broaden my market.
(KS) Do you feel that you have reached your fullest potential in the modeling industry? If not, how do you plan to rise to the top?
Lynn: Not in books of dreams! I have to just make sure I am working with the top designers and photographers, so I have to prove to the industry I have what it takes to be a fashion icon, which I do.
(KS) What is your definition of SUCCESS?
Lynn: Success is being able to make a difference in the world.
(KS) Watching you on Daddy's Girls, would you say that you are the most spontaneous cast member?
Lynn: No, I don't feel like I am. I think Shawna or Ang is.
(KS) Out of all the cast members of Daddy's Girls, who are you closest to? And what makes you all relationship unique?
Lynn: I am closest to Vanessa. I feel like it is so unique because we are spiritual praying partners.
